God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to join me in matrimony to the Greater Faith A.M.E. Zion Church of Petersburg, Virginia.  For that I am grateful, for I believe that God ordained this union long before Greater Faith or I ever existed.  I believe God looked ahead in time and chose the day of the union and so it is.

Pastoring is not only an awesome responsibility but an humbling experience that requires one to always remember that none of the assignment is about him/her but all about God and service to God’s people.   As I am called to shepherd God’s people, I am reminded to seek the wisdom of God to rule over these people whom God has given me charge of.  As I move forward in my assignment from God, I am reminded that “I walk by faith not by sight.”
Greater Faith is a congregation that has a servant’s attitude.  First, because Jesus said, “…but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.” (Mark 10:43) Second, we realize that it is impossible to serve God without serving our fellow man.  At Greater Faith the Saints are being equipped for service and the work of ministry.

As we move forward in ministry, we will strive to establish a strong foundation for our members through nurturing worship, fellowship, and teaching that will lead to a deeper Christian experience and result in greater participation in church and community ministry that will be evidenced by members desiring to obey the commandments to love God, love one another, make disciples, and live a life that is pleasing to God.

Visitors:
For those who visit us in person, we promise to make your visit so warm and welcoming that you will want to come back.  For the unchurched, we will make every effort to lead you to Jesus Christ and to love and care for you as Jesus commands us to do. We want you to know that you don’t have to have any special clothing, just come as you are; you don’t have to wait until you “get it right,” just come as you are (see our home page for service times).  We, at Greater Faith, do not look down on anyone unless we are picking them up.  For those who visit us by social media, facebook or other means (as they become available), we welcome you, and we invite you to visit us in person as soon as possible.  We promise that your visit will be a pleasant experience.

God bless you and keep you!
